WeatherBug was paid for by grants and local contributions.  East Yancey Middle School installed a WeatherBug weather station and received a site license to provide subsequent science programming. This addition will improve curriculum delivery, provide a tool for school cancellations due to inclement weather, and bring science to life for students.  The community appreciates Mary Sapp and her dedication in providing Yancey County with WeatherBug. For more information or to connect your mobile device visit Mrs. Sapp's school webpage or visit www.weatherbug.com

East Yancey Middle School is a small, rural middle school located on the east end of Burnsville, our county seat.  Yancey County is the gateway to Mt. Mitchell, the highest peak east of the Mississippi River.  We serve three elementary feeder schools:  Micaville, South Toe, and Burnsville.
